Today was our first full day in Honduras. We awoke to fresh coffee, tortillas, eggs, and refried beans. After a bumpy 30-minute ride to church, we enjoyed a worship service at CCI, an international church in Comayagua. We had earpieces for an English translation of the service, and we enjoyed listening to their music.
After church, we visited Comayagua's central square, where we ate at Ricas Pupusas Al Paso. Lunch was a long "taco", which was similar to a chimichanga, and pupusas, which are soft corn tortillas filled with delicious melted cheese. We also ate anafre, which is a warm refried bean and cheese dip. We were stuffed for the ride back to campus!
This afternoon we had some training in how to share the gospel with the people we will be working with. Then we took a tour of the campus and heard the history and vision of El Ayudante. We are grateful to be a part of such an amazing organization!
After another yummy dinner, we sorted out the donations that the school collected and prepared for VBS. Pray for us tomorrow as we start our first day of VBS at La Isla school and participate in some construction projects.
