We arrived safe and sound in San Pedro Sula this morning at 11:00 am local time. After working our way through customs with our sea of baggage, we loaded it on top of the El Ayudante van to begin our journey up the mountain. We got over any personal space issues after piling into the van.
| We had just enough room for every single bag we brought. One more and it would not have made it! |
| Rubbing shoulders with friends! We were so grateful to have air conditioning, too! |
We made our first stop at a local restaurant called Valdezpin.
| Our traditional Honduran lunch of fried plantains (SO GOOD!!), sausage, cheese, and beans. There was also pico de gallo and a pickled onion garnish. |
We made our second stop at a fruit stand where we bought pineapple, bananas, and stretched our legs. We were offered delicious coconut water as well.
| "We sell coconut ice cream" |
After our long journey tightly squeezed in the van, we were so happy to finally make it to El Ayudante and meet the wonderful missions team that will be leading us on our adventure this week.
| All of the kiddos chilling in the hammocks on the front porch of the mission house that we will be staying in this week. |
| A beautiful sunset to end our beautiful first day in Honduras! |
So glad you are safe and now can rest. Love and prayers.
